About us

Sasqwatch International Film Festival is a celebration of bold, independent storytelling from every corner of the world. Each year we bring together filmmakers, screenwriters, animators, and music video artists for one unforgettable day on the big screen, in front of a live Vancouver audience.

Founded and directed by Marc Boily, whose eight years and 3,500-plus films and scripts in Vancouver's festival scene shaped everything we do, Sasqwatch was built on a simple belief: that great work deserves a great room. We champion the short, the strange, the heartfelt, and the fearless, and we put it in front of people who love cinema as much as the artists who make it.

Set in the heart of Hollywood North, our home is The Théâtre de l'Alliance Française de Vancouver. This is where our official selections screen, where nominees become winners, and where a global community of storytellers gathers for a single, sold-out afternoon.

Our third annual festival takes place Sunday, August 30th, 2026. We would love for you to be part of it.
